As people all over the world continue to monitor health events that are impacting friends, family, and colleagues, Bio-Techne understands the importance of continuing research to find cures and vaccines that will help fight and treat illness, while also protecting our employees and customers.
We understand the critical nature our products play in our customer’s efforts to further discoveries and cures to human disease and are providing this statement to address questions and concerns about Bio-Techne's ability to supply its customers’ ongoing research needs amid the COVID-19 outbreak. Our manufacturing and purchasing departments have been monitoring this unfortunate and evolving situation. They are working closely with our raw material suppliers and have implemented precautionary measures to ensure continued support of your valuable research.
Based on our present assessment, Bio-Techne sees minimal to no supply impacts across all of our Bio-Techne brands that might affect ongoing or new customer projects. While there are a very small number of products with raw materials sourced from affected areas, we currently anticipate having adequate supplies of such impacted products for 3-6 months and have alternative suppliers to help ensure continuity of supply.
We have contingency plans in place so that we will be able to continue at a minimum the critical parts of our business, including responding to customer’s requests. We have asked employees to limit travel at this time and have encouraged the use of technology to hold remote meetings. Our goal is to utilize preventative techniques to reduce the threat COVID-19 poses to our ability to supply products and services to our customers. We do appreciate your understanding as this global event has an impact on commerce worldwide.
